Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):

PhD in biomedical science or equivalent field of study or foreign equivalent degree. Proven competency in carrying out laboratory research.

Preferred Qualifications:

Expertise in the use of mouse models of disease, cell and organoid culture. Knowledge of cellular metabolism. Strong written and communication skills.

Brief Description of Duties:

This position will be in the laboratory of Dr. David Montroseat Stony Brook Medicine( www.montroselab.org ). The research focus of this newly established lab is to investigate how cellular metabolism, gut microbes and diet impact the pathogenesis of colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. This work involves the use of genetically engineered mouse and cell culture models.

Responsibilities of this position will include:

  • Independently carrying out experiments using in vivo and in vitro models of GI disease;

  • Data analysis, drafting of manuscripts and assisting with grant writing;

  • Various administrative tasks as well as other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

  • Other duties as assigned.
